We’ve been thinking a lot about Huntsville and how it shines so bright during the holiday season.
What makes Huntsville such a great compliment to the holidays, despite the 70 degree weather?
What does Huntsville Do Better During the Holidays?
1. Outdoor celebrations.
From Turkey Trots to Tinsel Trail, from Veteran’s Day Parade to Galaxy of Lights, we love our outdoor celebrations. And even though bundling up cozy is fun, this warmer weather isn’t all bad!
2. Being geeky & nerdy.
We have a NerdCon and a ThinkerCon, comic book shops, gamer gatherings, and lovely local makers and creators that help us keep the Geek in our holiday celebrations.
3. Volunteers!
Huntsville’s heart’s in the right place. There are many volunteer opportunities during the holidays from wrapping gifts to helping furry friends. If you want to help, there’s a way to be of service.
4. Shopping local.
We love to support our local makers, artisans, crafters, and creators. Especially during the holidays!
5. Making our attractions part of the holiday fun.
Historic Huntsville Depot becomes Santa’s Village. Burritt on the Mountain transforms into a showcase for old-fashioned and traditional Christmas. Huntsville Museum of Art shows off with an outdoor skating rink. The Huntsville Botanical Garden turns into Galaxy of Lights.
6. Something for everyone.
There truly is something for everyone, every age, every interest. Whatever YOUR particular kind of holiday fun is, it can be found somewhere in Huntsville.
7. Celebrating tradition.
Huntsville finds a way to keep traditions, perhaps the most important being the ones you have with your friends and family.
