Are you here in Huntsville for work or visiting family?
Here are the must-dos to get a taste of what Huntsville is about.
-
Breakfast – Blue Plate Café
Grab a good southern breakfast at Blue Plate Café.
They have a bar in case you are by yourself and want to skip the wait. Be sure to try a side of country fried steak and gravy.
-
Morning – U. S. Space and Rocket Center
After breakfast, spend your morning at the iconic U.S. Space and Rocket Center.
Opening at 9:00 am, check out the historic shuttle park, Davidson center, IMAX, exhibits and tours. You can’t miss the giant Saturn 5 out front!
-
Lunch – Pane e Vino
Following your visit to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, head back over to the heart of Huntsville and eat lunch at Pane e Vino Pizzeria, co-located with the Huntsville Art Museum.
If it’s nice, grab a patio table and enjoy the view of Big Spring Park.
-
Post Lunch – Big Spring Park / Huntsville Museum of Art / Monte Santo State Park
Be sure to walk around Big Spring Park, check out all of the Koi fish, and watch people feed the ducks.
If you have time, stop in at the Art Museum.
While you’re burning off your lunch, head over to Monte Sano. This expansive state park located just outside of downtown boasts trails, overlooks, and a pretty drive to the park itself.
-
Breweries
Before dinner, check out one of the many brewery taprooms that Madison County has to offer.
Try Blue Pants and Rocket Republic located in the Madison city area if you’re staying near the airport.
Or stay close to downtown Huntsville with Straight to Ale and Yellowhammer.
Each of the taprooms has their own unique style with lush outdoor beer gardens, retro game arcades, pub style darts, and friendly local brewers.
-
Dinner – Below the Radar
After hitting up one of the breweries, head to Below the Radar downtown.
This welcoming brew pub pulls you in with its impressive selection of beers from all over the world and keeps you glued with its delicious menu.
-
Post Dinner – The Chocolate Bar
If you still have energy left following your day, head over to the recently opened Chocolate Bar in the Twickenham area for dessert.
There’s nothing like a good sugar high before you crash in that nice comfy bed.
