Red Velvet Cake: Betty Mae’s

Love it or hate it, red velvet cake is one of those southern staples that everyone has an opinion on.
For those of you who are already fans, or for those who wish they understood the fuss, try the red velvet cake at Betty Mae’s.
A fair word of warning though, sandwiched between the thick frosting and the dreamy cake is a layer of nuts. They add a nice bit of crunch and flavor, but those with allergies or a dislike for nuts in their cakes might prefer to steer clear.

Cheesecake: The Eaves
Lots of places serve “cheesecake”. Usually made offsite and frozen, it’s creamy and cheesy and unfortunately dense.
The cheesecake at The Eaves has the light, fluffy texture which not only highlights the creaminess of the cake but is a dead giveaway that it is made fresh, on site.
Offered with a variety of toppings, you pretty much can’t go wrong no matter which variety you select.

Chocolate Cake: Mason Dixon Bakery and Bistro
Chocolate cake may seem like the most basic of all possible desserts, and a gluten free restaurant may seem an odd place to get cake.
However, The flourless chocolate torte at Mason Dixon is hands down the most luscious, rich and chocolately cake around. No gluten needed.

City Cafe Diner has some of the best cakes in town! And they give you a great big slice! I’ve eaten a little bit from all over their menu and all my food has always been great. One of Huntsville’s best kept secrets if you ask me! We live in Muscle Shoals but travel to Huntsville often for events. It is a must that we eat dinner at City Cafe Diner when we come.
That’s a great recommendation Kathleen! THANK YOU!
