Our Valley Events staff loves to brainstorm ideas to keep you in the know. But sometimes, even we don’t know and have to find out for you.
With SO many more events and things to do in Downtown Huntsville, we thought Potty Hacks would be a great idea, but we had to go searching for them.
What did we find out?
There aren’t any.
But in our search for where to pee in Downtown Huntsville, we did decide a refresher was in order.
Tell us your favorite or most convenient potty in Downtown Huntsville in the comments. Or not, if you like to keep your secret throne a secret!
Where to Potty in Big Spring Park
During Business Hours:
- There are restrooms in the lobby of the PNC Bank building. Enter from the park side, cross the lobby and turn right.
After Business Hours or on the Weekend:
- Try the Box Office entrance of the Von Braun Center. It’s typically open to accommodate all of the events that take place at the VBC.
Restaurant:
- Pane e Vino has restrooms that are inside the Huntsville Museum of Art. It’s polite to make a purchase before using the facilities, but in a pinch, it will do.
Museum Member:
- If you are a member of the Huntsville Museum of Art, they have restrooms right in the lobby to the left, so you never have to go through a gallery to dash in and find relief.
During an Event:
- Look for the City of Huntsville’s portable, air-conditioned trailer potty. It’s luxury port-a-potty at it’s best and a great investment the City has made in our Downtown event scene.
- Port-a-potties are often brought in for events, so check the peripheral of the park to see if you can spot a johnny on the spot before panic sets in (or you don’t see the City’s trailer).
Where to Potty on the Square
Restaurant:
- The folks at Sam & Greg’s are too nice to tell you no, but if you do pop in to use the loo, take one for the team and purchase a small gelato as a thank you!
That’s really the only place where you can dash in. All other businesses are off limits unless you work there, know someone who works there or you are a patron. The Courthouse is accessible during business hours, but who wants to go through a metal detector just to find a potty?
Over 21:
- Hit one of the bars or restaurants off the Square (or under it) and refuel with a quick drink. Some will probably let you pass, but being a patron is a nice way to say thanks.
Thank you for reading through our not-so-helpful but altogether nice reminder post about going pee in our City. Hopefully we’ll get some helpful tips in the comments!
