Summer officially starts at the end of June and runs through September. Get the most out of it early on, and then plan to stay busy even after school starts back.

1. Susie’s Beach Fest
Several tons of sand create a mini-beach, music by CBDB, food trucks, beach cocktails and artwork.

2. Hamacon 6
Huntsville’s Anime convention, held at the Von Braun Center.

3. Bricktastic LEGO Show
Amazing LEGO structures built by the Tennessee Valley LEGO Club (TNVLC), panels and workshops.
Date: June 27 – 28
Cost: $5/day or $8/weekend
4. Beer Quest
Join fellow beer enthusiasts for an evening with local craft beer, games, food trucks, cornhole tournament, and scientific demos exploring the wonderful world of brewing science.

Cost: $20 in advance, $25 at the door
5. Microwave Dave Day
A night of concerts to celebrate Huntsville’s own Microwave Dave.
Date: June 28, 3 – 9 pm
Cost: Suggested$10 donation
6. July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza
Huntsville’s largest fireworks display at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.
Date: July 4, 6 – 10 pm
Cost: $20 car pass
7. Rocket Chef
Competitive cooking competition and the official kickoff for Huntsville Restaurant Week.
Date: August 10
Cost: $75 per person
8. Dining With Friends Dessert Reception
This year we will experience the glamor of Old Hollywood at the Dining with Friends dessert reception on July 11 at The Westin Huntsville. There will be entertainment, game tables, a silent auction, and, of course, delicious desserts.

9. Con Kasterborous Doctor Who Convention
Huntsville’s Doctor Who convention, featuring guests Paul McGann (the 8th Doctor) and Eric Roberts.

10. Miracle Bash
Dinner, silent auction and live music to benefit the Melissa George Neonatal Memorial Fund at Huntsville Hospital Foundation.

11. Rocket City Tailgate Challenge
All things tailgating and football at a free expo, cooking competition and youth athletic challenge.
Date: August 22, 10 am – 7 pm

12. Slide the City
1000 feet of slick vinyl to slide down on the streets of Huntsville!
Date: September 12
Cost: Unlimited slides $50 advance
13. Monte Sano Art Festival
Regional artists and great food on top of Monte Sano mountain.
Date: September 19 – 20
Cost: $5 to park
14. 16th Annual Moon Over Three Caves Dance
Annual dance. Details to come.
Date: September 19, 7 – 11 pm

15. Summer Concerts!
From Concerts in the Park to Rocket Center Shuttle Park concerts, there are LOTS of live music opportunities this summer.
16. Movies in the Park
July’s movie is The Princess Bride and August’s movie is Despicable Me.

17. Huntsville Ghost Walk
Every Saturday at 6 pm, departing from Harrison Brothers Hardware. Tickets are $10 adults and $5 for kids 12 and under.
