#1: CJs Steak and Seafood
Located in Sommerville, south of Huntsville, the drive to CJ’s features lush greenery along a county road.
The building isn’t anything fancy, but the catfish is delicious, the staff friendly, and the prices attractive.

#2: 5 A’s Restaurant
Just off highway 53, in Harvest, 5A’s offers a change of pace from the usual BBQ or meat and threes with a Greek and Mediterranean menu. (Try the gyro plate).

#3: Grandmother’s House
Nestled off of Hwy 431, in Owen’s Cross Roads, Grandmother’s House is set up inside a converted house. Serving BBQ and meat and three style entrees on eclectic china patterns adds to the homey feel. Make sure to try the fried pickles.
Note: it can be a bit tricky to find, so make sure to consult the map on their website before heading out.

#4: New Market BBQ
Tucked into New Market, this spot features scenic greenery on the drive over and outdoor tables suitable for picnicking when the weather cooperates. (Never fear, there is indoor seating as well.)
If you get lucky, you’ll hit one of the weekends where the BBQ Sketti is the special, but if you miss that, there are plenty of other tasty menu options, like chocolate pecan pie!
