FREE Oktoberfest in the Washington Street Alley
@ Washington Street Alley behind Humphrey’s, Friday, 3 – 9 pm
Head downtown for Oktoberfest in the Alley. The German Society will have an official keg tapping ceremony, and Humphrey’s will have German food for purchase. Music by the Breedings and Seminole Strut.

Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddler’s Convention
@ Athens State University, Friday, 7 – 10 pm & Saturday, 8 am – 8 pm
Attracting more than 15,000 people for this two-day event has more than 200 musicians and approximately 150 booths featuring old-fashioned arts and crafts. Convention goers will see everything from traditional artwork to coal-fired metal works. Cost is $8 Friday, $10 Saturday and $15 for both days.

#1 First Saturday Fitness @ Big Spring Park East, Saturday at 8:30 am & 10 am
#2 Yoga by the River @ Hays Nature Preserve, Saturday at 9 am
Healthy Huntsville’s First Saturday Fitness will feature an interval workout at 8:30 and pilates at 10 am. Yoga at Hays is offering free classes each Saturday in October.
FREE Madison Street Festival
@ Main Street in downtown Madison, Saturday, 9 am – 5 pm
Come out and eat great food, be entertained, admire the works of talented local artists, and spend time with your family and friends at the Madison Street Festival!

FREE Fall Historic Walking Tours
@ Five Points, corner of Wells & Maple Hill Drive, Saturday, 10 am
Did you know that Huntsville is home to the South’s largest concentration of antebellum homes? Take a leisurely, guided stroll through these famed historic districts. Meet at corner of Wells Avenue and Maple Hill Drive (or NW corner of Maple Hill Cemetery) for the Five Points tour. Lasts 1 – 1 ½ hours.
