It was around this time last year that I spotted my first Huntsville Santa Bar Crawl procession. My friend and I were walking around from bar to bar one cold winter night to take our mind off of finals, and we kept spotting the same assortment of peculiarly dressed people.
Traipsing in front of us in bar windows and street corners were men and women in antlers, jingle bells, sexy Santa suits and Grinch masks. I was dumbfounded by this mystery group of jolly Christmas fans until a nearby patron informed me of the Annual Santa Bar Crawl, which has a small but dedicated group of followers. 
This year I’m planning on changing my status from bystander to participant this weekend at the Huntsville Santa Bar Crawl 2013 on Saturday, December 14th.
How It Works
Here’s how it works: anyone interested in the Huntsville Santa Bar Crawl 2013 will meet at Below the Radar Brewhouse at 8pm. After drinking plenty of festive libations (and about an hour), everyone will move to the next bar. The bar crawl is expected to move to a different place every hour until the Midnight Santa Dance Party, with the line up of bars decided the night of the event.
But here is the most important part of the Huntsville Santa Bar Crawl 2013: all participants must be committed to dressing like a Christmas/Hanukah/Kwanzaa themed character. All those dressing in half-ass costumes will be ridiculed and shunned. Alright, maybe not the shunned part. But they will definitely be ridiculed. So get in the holiday spirit!
