Watching the 1994 Olympics I dreamed of skating like some hybrid ballerina-swan across the ice à la Oksana Baiul. Following those Olympics, my sister, best friend, and I begged to take ice skating lessons. While my sis and her pal breezed through waltz jumps, and even a single lutz, I stuttered across the ice dragging my toe pick to slow down.
For all those who once dreamed, or are keeping the dream alive, of skating to glory, a new Huntsville tradition returns to Big Spring Park this week: Skating in the Park 2013!

I hope they have a better selection at the skate park for snacks….concession! Warm peanuts would be great so many people requested this last year! Also for a diabetic like me and so many of my friends no sugar cocoa packets would be nice!! Hot water and tea bags would also make it worth the trip. Some people come to watch and enjoy the decorations it would be nice to have theses different options……please!!!
