FREE Pop Up Parks

Downtown Huntsville, Inc. is bringing the Inaugural Pop Up Park Competition to Downtown Huntsville! The twelve participating groups will compete for the Pop Up Park Cup with the winner retaining position of this unique trophy for one year. All Pop Up Parks are free for the public to enjoy from 6am to Midnight on the three days of the competition. So grab a pizza or a picnic, and go enjoy a Pop Up Park! Read more about Pop Up Parks.

FREE Aviation Day
@ US Space and Rocket Center, Saturday 9am-5pm
In honor of National Aviation History Month, Aviation Challenge® is open to the community for FREE tours of historic military aircraft and the Aviation Challenge Camp facility. Meet renowned military pilots and hear them discuss their exciting flying experiences and visit with members of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) and the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and other aviation exhibitors.

FREE Veterans Day Weekend Concert
@ First Baptist Church, Sunday 5pm
The 50-piece orchestra of First Baptist Church is presenting an afternoon concert of patriotic music for Veterans Day. The concert will include music from American composers including Variations on America, God of Our Fathers, and two movements from
American Hymnsong Suite. The FBC Orchestra will be accompanied by the Alabama Singing Women Chorus. Military veterans who attend will be honored.

FREE Huntsville’s Annual Veterans Day Parade
@ Downtown Huntsville, Monday 11am
The traditional time for a Veterans Day parade is the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. At 11 AM the flag at the corner of Williams & Lowe Avenues will be raised to full mast, followed by taps & a three-volley rifle salute. We prefer to watch the parade from the square.
