Huntsville Chamber Music 2013
Two major sources for Huntsville Chamber Music are the Twickenham Fest, taking place August 30th-September 1st, and the Huntsville Master Chorale concerts.
Twickenham Fest
- Dates: August 30-September 1
- Cost: All Twickenham Fest’s concerts are free. The event organizers suggest a donation of $20 per ticket.
About: Twickenham Fest is a summer chamber music festival in Huntsville, Alabama. In 2010, co-founders Susanna Phillips and Matthew McDonald came together to bring the best young classical musicians to Huntsville. Its fourth year brings eleven young Guest Artists to Huntsville to perform three free concerts.
Here are the details on the 2013 Twickenham Fest Concerts.
The Annual Patron Soirée
- Date: Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from 6:30pm – 9:30pm
Held each year in a historic home of the Twickenham area, the Annual Patron Soirée is a cocktail meet-and-greet with Twickenham Fest’s guest artists. An exclusive preview concert rounds out the evening .
A Night of Schubert
- Date: Friday, August 30, 2013 from 7:30pm – 9:30pm
- Location: Church of the Nativity, Episcopal
Twickenham Fest’s 2013 summer opens with a Night of Schubert. The program includes Auf dem Strom, select songs for baritone, and the Trout Piano Quintet.

A World Premiere from Christopher Weiss
- Date: Saturday, August 31, 2013 from 7:30pm – 9:30pm
- Location: Church of the Nativity, Episcopal
Saturday’s concert will feature the world premiere of a piece by Twickenham Fest Composer-in-Residence Christopher Weiss.
Ravel’s Piano Trio
- Date: Sunday, September 1, 2013 from 3:00pm – 5:00pm
- Location: Church of the Nativity, Episcopal
Sunday’s program will feature an adaptation of Richard Strauss’s Till Eulenspiegel followed by Ravel’s Trio for Violin, Cello, and Piano.

Huntsville Master Chorale
Season Runs: November-May
About: The Huntsville Master Chorale is a chamber ensemble dedicated to providing choral excellence for the Tennessee Valley. This group, originally the Eugene Brasher Chorale, was founded in 1998 by Dr. Eugene Brasher, who served as the director until his retirement in December of 2005. In May 2012, Dr. Patricia Hacker was appointed as conductor of the Huntsville Master Chorale.
