FREE Movies in the Park: Back to the Future

It may not be 1985 and you may not have a DeLorean, but you can still head to downtown Huntsville for a nostalgic look at the past as the Historic Huntsville Foundation presents “Back to the Future” at sundown in Big Spring Park, free for the whole community to enjoy. HHF is organizing this event to support efforts to help animate downtown with fun, free, family-friendly entertainment. Bring your chairs and blankets to make this a fun family outing! Green U Home and Health Initiative

Green U is a one day Family-Friendly Festival for the Environment! Join a lively crowd to hear guest speakers teach us how our community can become more ecologically friendly. Regional businesses specializing in “green” products and services will be on hand to educate and demonstrate their offerings. The Folk Mission Presents: An Evening with Peter Bradley Adams
@ Straight to Ale, Saturday 7:30pm
The Folk Mission hosts intimate,”listening room” concerts with world-class folk / blues / acoustic singer-songwriters. This Saturday, join them at Straight to Ale Brewery for an earlier-evening, smoke-free show with Peter Bradley Adams and some of the best craft beer in town. Peter Bradley Adams was one half of the duo, Eastmountainsouth, signed by Robbie Robertson (of The Band) to DreamWorks Records in 2002. Since then, Peter has released four solo records as well as an EP with his side project, “Down Like Silver”. He currently lives in Brooklyn, NY., but Pure Music says “Adams’ Alabama upbringing has clearly instilled a sense of simple honesty that makes great Americana so attractive.”

Kitchens for CASA

Kitchens for CASA is in its 22nd year as CASA of Madison County’s longest running annual fundraiser- a self-guided tour that allows you to experience an array of Madison County’s unique, designer kitchens. This year’s homes are located in Madison, the Huntsville’s Historical District, and Greenlawn Plantation. This is the perfect opportunity to find the newest ideas for remodeling your kitchen as guests can see homes featuring remodeling and craftsmanship from local businesses. Events on the tour include raffles, refreshments, culinary demonstrations, much more.
