This Saturday a one-of-a-kind event is happening in Huntsville that celebrates all things healthy, all day long: the Healthy Life Summit. Think of it as the Bonaroo of fitness.
Healthy Life Summit
Beginning at 7 a.m. are outside events at Big Spring Park that include a 5K run called the “Duckling Dash.” Like many of the outside events the run is for children and their parents. Following the run is a F.A.S.T. Field Day — the acronym stands for flexibility, agility, speed, and training — which aims to bring kids from across the community together.

A kid zone with inflatables will be free to the public between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Rounding out the outdoor activities is a Lifesouth blood drive outside the Von Braun Center.
From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the VBC East Hall 2 is a health & wellness expo. This health, wellness, and fitness event is free to the public. With nearly 50 vendors participating from all different avenues of fitness this summit is billed as ‘one day that will change your life.’
At the bottom of the hour are demonstrations from local dance studios, martial artists, ballroom dancers, and local fitness centers like Iron Tribe and Hot Yoga. Additionally, a wellness panel of physicians will speak in East Hall 2, beginning at the top of the hour, from 12-5 p.m.

Miss Alabama Bikini 2012 Jessica Valencia will act as the social media MC and provide a running critique of competitors throughout the finals on Twitter. Follow her on Twitter: @JessicaVBikini.
- Prejudging 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. $20 per ticket; or free with 5k registration.
- Finals 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. General admission $25 per ticket; VIP $30.
City Cafe Diner is the official eatery of the Classic and is the destination for bodybuilders to eat following the show. There is also an after-party at Club Rush in downtown Huntsville.
