Did you that July was deemed “National Ice Cream Month,” by Ronald Reagan in 1984? To gauge some of our areas top contenders for ice cream, we headed to the Huntsville/ Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau to see some people we knew would like to share- Local bloggers from the group Rocket City Bloggers! These local wordsmiths were attending their first Rocket City Bloggers Meet and Greet and here is the “scoop” on some of their favorite places for ice cream in Huntsville!
Now, don’t just check out their favorite flavors, also click through to their blogs. You just might find a new favorite there as well!

- But if you are looking for an absolute treat, Amanda, Huntsville’s resident food critic, recommends hitting the road for Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream Scoop Shop in Nashville. “Try the absinthe” was her recommendation for us.
- Or, pick up some Jeni’s locally at The Fresh Market on Whitesburg Drive or Earth Fare on University Drive.

Let’s face it – ice cream DESERVES its own month. 😀 I think we should celebrate by having a little ice cream every day in July. Who’s with me?
Cool post.
What an old man answer I gave! “Now get off my lawn!”
I agree, Kathryn! I think an ice cream social is in order! And Bo, is the ice cream at Publix is near the wine, like Keith mentioned?
Let’s focus on what’s important here: ice cream and wine. The venue is incidental 🙂
Kathyrn, I’m with you! : )
The ice cream and the wine are directly adjacent.
I wonder what a scoop of vanilla ice cream with red wine poured over it would be like?
