Memorial Day is a chance to show our veterans a small portion of the honor and gratitude they deserve for serving our country. And while we can never repay them for their services, what I can do is tell you about the Memorial Day events in Huntsville.

If you’re looking for a way to celebrate with the whole family, here’s a few options.
Memorial Day Celebration at Sci-Quest
- Time: 9am – 6pm
- Location: Sci-Quest
As a special “thank you” to our service members, Sci-Quest is offering half off general admission to all Veterans, Military, Police Officers and Fire Fighters with a valid ID.
Space and Rocket Center Celebration
- Time: 9am – 5pm
- Location: U.S. Space and Rocket Center
Join the U.S. Space and Rocket Center for an exciting Memorial Day Celebration! Activities include Space Bingo, Rocket Art Walk, Paper Rockets, Bubble Pool, Mini Tribbles and Moon Sand Design. All events are included free with paid museum admission.

Huntsville Memorial Day Service
- Time: 10:30 – 11:30am (Music at 10:30 AM & ceremony at 11 AM)
- Location: Maple Hill Cemetery
- Address: 202 Maple Hill Street 35801
This service provides friends & families the opportunity to honor our veterans who have made the ultimate sacrifice to our country. Guests should be on the grounds by 10:30am. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
Memorial Day Service
- Time: 3 – 4pm
- Location: Glenwood Cemetery

Join the Urban Emphasis Scout Leaders Council, the associated scout units as we honor the memory of the defenders of our freedom with a fitting military salute.
Keynote Speaker: Col Martha K. Brooks, Director of Public Affairs, U.S. Army Expeditionary Contracting Command
Music: U.S. Army Material Command Band Brass Ensemble
Twickenham Winds Memorial Day Concert
- Time: 7:30 – 9:30pm
- Location: Huntsville High School
Celebrate Memorial Day with music at the Twickenham Winds Memorial Day Concert. Performance of traditional Concert band music by all-volunteer adult community band. Featured will be works by Tchaikovsky, Della Joio, Hindemith, Delle Cese, Holst, and Carmen Dragon.
