Historic Mooresville Weekend- Walking Tour
@ Town of Mooresville, Friday 10am- 8pm & Saturday 11am-5pm
Step back in time and head to Mooresville for their Walking Tour Weekend. Experience 19th century village life by strolling beautiful gardens and tree-lined streets, and touring the historic public buildings. Traditional artisans will demonstrate 19th century trades and crafts, and the 19th Alabama Civilian re-enactors will demonstrate life during the harsh times of the American Civil War in a civilian camp set-up. Saturdays in the Park- Kickoff Event
@ Big Spring Park, Saturday 9am-1pm
Head to downtown Huntsville for a menu of FREE physical activities for the entire family including Zumba, yoga, boot camp, tai chi, piloxing, hula hooping, runner’s yoga, pilates, ballroom dance and TRX. Deep Roots of Alabama is also offering a 5K walk/run at 10 a.m. The Saturdays in the Park kickoff also includes a farmer’s market, cooking and gardening demonstrations, and healthy vendor booths. Children’s activities feature kid-friendly fitness, a moon bounce, face painting and magic! Come dressed to participate! Check out all the healthy vendors and giveaways and enjoy a day of healthy food, fun, and fitness in the park.

Poke Salat Music Festival
@Arab City Park, Saturday 8am (arts and crafts) & 5 (pm music festival)
Even if you aren’t crazy about eating a plate of greens, you can still enjoy art, crafters, old fashioned family fun and good music. This weekend is the annual Poke Salat music festival with activities downtown along Main Street in the morning (beginning at 8am) and a concert at the park in the evening. This year’s concert will be held at the city’s outdoor amphitheater with grass seating, so bring your lawn chairs and blankets. A children’s inflatable area is included. Gates open at 4 p.m. and music begins at 5 p.m.
