Do you know what time it is?? It’s ROCKET TIME!! Well, it is for Sci-Quest, Hands-on Science Center, who will be holding their annual Rocket Day this Saturday, February 23rd from 10:30am-2:30pm.
3,2,1…
In the mood to shoot off some rockets this weekend? Or to teach your children the principles of rocket science? Then this weekend’s Rocket Day is the event for you!
With help from Boeing engineers, kids ages five and up will build and launch their own water rockets in the parking lot of Sci-Quest. All while learning about princples of safety and rockets.
AND everyone who attends will be in for a pretty nifty sight: these rockets can reach altitudes of over 50 feet and accelerate to speeds approaching 200 miles per hour!
Safety First
And if you’re wondering what the danger factor of these rockets is, don’t. Sci-Quest is all about safety! There will be plenty of trained adult supervisors. Plus, water rockets are very safe; they are powered ONLY by water and compressed gas.
Feeling a little adventurous? You and your little one even make their own air-powered own air-powered bottle rocket at home, with instructions on the Sci-Quest Web site, and bring it to the launch.
