Background
Where were you born?
I was born in Jasper, Alabama. I was the first grandchild for all of the grandparents so it was kind of a big deal. My mother had planned to name me Nicole, but when she saw me – she saw a Beth.

How long have you lived in Huntsville?
I have lived in Madison since 2008. I moved here with my fiancé after college to an internship and was lucky enough to find a job in the Rocket City!
What local organizations are you involved in?
I am happy to be involved in several Madison groups including:
- Madison Arts Council
- Madison Street Festival Committee
- Madison Hospital Women’s Council
I have made several new friends, and can’t wait to become more involved in 2013.
Favorites
Favorite local event?
I love anything that has to do with art, music, drama and food. One of my favorite events in Huntsville is the Rocket City Brewfest. One of my favorite events in Madison is the Madison Street Festival with all of the different arts, crafts, and vendors!
Favorite event you’ve written about for OVE?
I am still fairly new to the OVE team, but I enjoyed letting people know where to shop local for the holidays. There is nothing more personal than a gift that is one of a kind!

Favorite local attraction?
The one place I always take people to Huntsville is Lowe Mill Arts Center
on the weekend. They have incredible artists and shops that have set up shop in the old warehouse. The trip on the elevator beside Happy Tummy is cool enough for most people!
Favorite local restaurant?
The Eaves is one the best restaurants in Huntsville! Their brunch is worthy of a last meal, and if you haven’t tried it, go.
Favorite historical decade?
I feel a pretty close connection with the 70’s. The music and movies from that era make me happy. Also Gilda Radner is one of my idols and she was just comedy gold.
Favorite food?
My favorite food is watermelon. I have to save my money during the winter and spring so that I can have a watermelon fund in the summer. I can eat an entire watermelon by myself. It’s my drug. I am a watermelon junkie.
Either or
Cats or dogs?
I am a dog person all the way. Cats are fine, but there is something about a puppy that melts my heart. My little poodle Cappuccino Ridgeway is the sunshine of my life.

Do you make your bed?
I don’t make my bed. I don’t see the point in making something that I am just going to fall into as soon as I get home. Also – I am not a fluffy pillow person. Why do you need that many pillows?
Dressing up or sweatpants?
Sweatpants for sure! I can get dressed up, but like making my bed, what’s the use?
What would I find in your refrigerator right now?
Oranges, Hamburger Meat, Eggs, Milk, and lots of wine.
Imagine….
If Hollywood made a movie about your life, whom would you like to see play the lead role as you?
First off, Hollywood would need a big budget because it would be a musical. I feel that Zooey Deschanel, Emma Stone or Rebel Wilson could rock some curly hair and humor for me!
Last book you read?
The last book I read was Insurgent by Veronica Roth. It’s another book like the Hunger Games, but I am a reading fool. My mother is a librarian, and I can’t get enough of books!
If you could be any famous person (dead or alive) for a week, who would it be?
I would love to be Kristen Chenoweth for a week. Maybe when she was doing Pushing Daisies or Wicked. She’s just so dern talented!
What would the title of your autobiography be?
Beth Ridgeway: Orange you glad you bought this book?
If you had a million dollars to spend on anything, what would you do?
I would pay off student loans, buy a cabin in the mountains in Blue Ridge, GA, and start a pottery studio for my husband.
If you could have a superpower what would it be? Why?
If I could have a superpower it would be to swim underwater without having to take a breath. Little mermaid anyone?
