Don’t care for the tackiness or commercialism of Valentine’s Day? Go bowling.

Join Huntsville Young Professionals (HYP) for an utterly unromantic Valentine’s Day event. The group has reserved bowling lanes at Plamor Lanes for a fun, laid-back alternative to stuffy candlelight dinners.

The balls start rolling at 8 pm. The cost is $8 per person — paid when you arrive — for two games, including shoe rental. If you want to keep the night going longer, additional games are only 93 cents each.

Stoplight Party

This Valentine’s Day event will also be a ‘stoplight’ party. What is that you ask? It’s a party where your clothes doing the talking about your relationship status.

Here is the skinny on the night’s color choices:

• Red: if you’re taken
• Yellow: to mingle
• Green: if you’re single.

Whether you’re available or coupled up, come meet other young professionals in a relaxed environment. Plus, they are giving away prizes! Sign in when you arrive to enter the raffle.

About HYP

HYP — which began in 2004 and has 4,500 members — is a great jumping off point for transplants to Huntsville. In addition to social events, HYP donated $3,300 to local chapters of Wounded Warrior Project, CureSearch, and United Way of Madison County last year.
