Let me start off by saying I love cupcakes. And not in the typical oh there’s a cupcake on the table, I suppose I’ll have one. Um, no… I’m more of the somebody said cupcakes?! Outta my way!! And if you get in my way, I might just shove you. Literally. Ask my friends. I don’t apologize. You get between me and cupcakes, it’s your own fault.

So imagine my excitement when I heard the host of Cupcake Wars and Last Cake Standing, Justin Willman, was coming to Huntsville’s own Merrimack Hall!
Entertaining Resume
So why is the host of these cake filled TV shows coming to Huntsville? It turns out, Justin does more (much more actually) than host delicious shows on the Food Network. In fact, you could call him one of the busiest guys in showbiz or better yet “Entertainer of the Year,” which he was voted 4 years in a row by Campus Activities Magazine.
What earned Justin this accolade? First there are his TV credentials, which include show he hosts, stars in and is a correspondent on:
TV shows he hosts:
- Cupcake Wars, Food Network
- Last Cake Standing, Food Network
- Hub World, Hub Network
- Scrabble Showdown, Hub Network
Shows he’s a correspondent on:
Then there’s his Tricked Out Tour, which brings Justin to Huntsville along with New York, LA, Philly, and many other cities across the US.
Tricky Tricky
Just what kind of tricks will Justin be pulling in Huntsville? Tricks of the magic varitey. But this isn’t your mama’s magic show.
“Like a magician, but cooler.” reports the USA Today.
Rachel Ray (you’ve heard of her, right?) says that Justin is “without a doubt my favorite magician!””[pullquote align=”right”]”People have seen so much magic — David Blaine had his heyday, Chris Angel — so at this point, if you’re gonna do magic, you kind of have to respect the intelligence of the audience. We all know there’s a trick going on.” -Justin Willman[/pullquote]
Even teen heartthrob Justin Beiber weighed in, saying “I want to be a magician like you!”
So what exactly does that entail? You know that slight of hand that magicians are famous for? That smoke and mirrors? Well Justin is making his own kind of magic. By breaking all the rules of magic.
“People have seen so much magic — David Blaine had his heyday, Chris Angel — so at this point, if you’re gonna do magic, you kind of have to respect the intelligence of the audience. We all know there’s a trick going on. Dangle a carrot as to ‘here’s a little of what I’m doing,’ then still fool them after that,” Justin told the LA Times late last year.

September Show
So what can you expect at Justin’s September show at Merrimack?
- Magic like you’ve never seen
- A dash of comedy
- An event for the whole family
- And a night of fun
I recommend you get your tickets now. Since Justin will be performing at Merrimack Hall, that means two things: there’s not bad seat in the house and seating will be limited. So I’ll say it again: get your tickets NOW! And I’ll make it super easy for you, just click here.
PLUS you can meet Justin AND get your fill of cupcakes (always a good idea in my book) on Friday September 7th at the Gigi’s Cupcakes in Madison. Justin will be there at 12:30pm to sign autographs and (wait for it) judging a cupcake challenge amongst the bakers at Gigi’s Cupcakes!! You’ll want to see this! I’ll be there catching all the action LIVE for those of you unable to make it. And of course I’ll have to sample the cupcakes. [spacer size=”0″]
