It never fails….back to school seems to leave everyone exhausted.
It’s also the time when more events than ever are filling up our calendars and until someone can figure out how to squeeze more hours in a day and days in a week, we are stuck trying to make it work.
Since we are the experts at providing you with things to do on the weekends, we thought it was also our duty to show you how to maximize those 60 weekend hours.
1. Don’t overdo it.
It’s REALLY important to schedule some down time.
That down time can be achieved in simple ways, like a picnic in your local park, walk on a greenway, or bike ride.
2. Schedule big commitments as far in advance as possible.
Galas, live theatre, concerts and other big events should go on your calendar first and then plan around.
Don’t be surprised by a big event that you forgot. You can always check our calendar and utilize it’s NEW features (read more here).
3. To go with #2, book a babysitter early.
If you don’t have one, we found Tennessee Valley Star Care is a great resource.
4. Do your chores during the week.
Spend 10 minutes each weeknight doing a chore or task you would usually save for the weekend.
You may be able to eliminate weekend chores altogether with some careful planning and discipline.
5. Take a nap.
Just do it. We all do it. You should be doing it too.
6. Don’t be afraid to say no.
As much as we LOVE keeping you informed of all there is to do in Huntsville, even we understand sometimes you just need to stay home, get a Redbox movie and pop some popcorn.
It’s ok!! We won’t get mad.
