Garden Give Back Day Benefiting United Way of Madison County
@ Huntsville Botanical Garden , Friday 9am-5pm
Enjoy complimentary admission to the Huntsville Botanical Garden when you bring donations to support the United Way of Madison County. The Garden and United Way will be collecting items for the United Way’s Warming Hands, Heads and Hearts campaign. Each person who brings a donation of hats, gloves, scarves or socks will enjoy a free fall day at the Garden.

FREE Concerts on the Dock: BrothaRic and the Chicken Bone Reunion
@ Lowe Mill , Friday 6-9pm
Join the crowds and BrothaRic Patton and the Chicken Bone Reunion enjoying the fall at Lowe Mill on Friday night. Concerts on the Dock is a family friendly event that is FREE from 6-9 p.m. every Friday in October. Feel free to bring your dogs on a leash and food, drinks, blankets, and chairs. Donations are accepted. Parking is limited (and $2 this season), so please carpool folks!

3rd Annual International Heritage Festival

Burritt on the Mountain’s 3rd Annual International Heritage Festival will include Native Americans, early settlers, and many other cultures from different countries around the world. This is an opportunity to learn about other parts of our world through music, dance, food, crafts and history. Children 2 and under and members of Burritt on the Mountain are free and general admission for non-members.

FREE Astronomy Day 2013
@ Monte Sano State Park, Saturday 1-10pm
This Saturday, head to the Von Braun Astronomical Society (VBAS) facilities in Monte Sano State Park for Astronomy Day. Events include family fun activities (Moon rock from Apollo 15, astronomy van, Radio JOVE, vacuum jar, paper air rocket making, suitcase hybrid rocket, solar telescope, Astrophotography, and dry ice comet making demonstration, and many more), planetarium shows and telescope observing (weather permitting). All activities are free and open to the public.

Music Has A Meaning – Rock N Roll For Russel Hill
@ Straight to Ale, Saturday 4-11pm
This inaugural fundraising event will take place at the Straight to Ale Brewery and will feature two stages of music, food, a silent auction and much more. The official line-up of bands includes: Billy Zoom & The New Moon Boys, Post War, The Blank Regeneration, Steven Jackson, The Soft Revenge, The Turner Family Band, Alan Little and The Rocketeers Drum & Bugle Corps.
