3. Wicker Man

The purpose of this ceremony is to release the hardships, difficulties, and woes we may have faced so far in 2022. This event is inspired by Viking Age and Celtic ceremonial practices. Please feel free to wear ceremonial garb and/or face paint.

4. Tweed Ride Huntsville

Dates: Saturday, October 29
Time: 9:30 am
Location: Check-in at Lincoln Mill

Tweed Ride Huntsville is a dapper social cycle that takes place each fall in historic Huntsville. Prizes will be awarded for Best Dressed Male and Female, Best Original Vintage Bike, and Best Restoration Bike. Food and drink will be available for purchase at various stops throughout the day. Register in advance.

5. Bluebeard’s Castle – Opera Huntsville

Dates: Friday – Sunday, 3 performances
Location: VBC Playhouse

A fully-staged production of Béla Bartók’s brilliant one-act opera ‘Bluebeard’s Castle.’ This psychological thriller follows Judith as she explores the mysterious castle despite disturbing rumors. The opera will be performed in Hungarian* with English supertitles.

*Saturday matinee performance will be in English with piano accompaniment.

BONUS EVENT: Historical Marker Dedication for Alice Baldridge

Dates: Sunday, October 30
Time: 2 pm
Location:703 Adams Street

Join us to welcome Alice Boarman Baldridge to her place in history at a marker dedication at the site of her former home on Adams Street in the Twickenham Historic District. Madison County’s first female elected offical and first female attorney, Alice blazed trails for generations of women who follow in her footsteps.
