Skating in the Park
@ Big Spring Park behind Huntsville Museum of Art, Friday 6-11pm
Skating in the Park is back!! Slip on your skated for public skating now through Jan. 5, 2014. Skating in the Park will be open Monday through Thursday: 2 to 10 p.m., Friday: 2 p.m. to midnight, Saturday: 10 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday: noon to 8 p.m. Read more about Skating in the Park.

4th Annual Irish Christmas & Whiskey Tasting
@ Jackson Center, Friday 6-11pm
The 4th Annual Irish Christmas and Whiskey Tasting will feature Irish cuisine as well as music from Bourbon & Shamrocks and the lovely Irish dancers from the Fitness Arts Center. And who can forget the whiskey tasting? For an additional cost you can sample whiskeys, scotches, & chocolates while listening to the history & breakdown of each liquor as well as why how each chocolate compliments each liquor.

FREE Trout Fishing Day
@ Hays Nature Preserve, Saturday 7-11am
The lake at Hays Nature Preserve is stocked so come out and enjoy a morning of fishing for Rainbow Trout! Fishing licenses are not required when fishing in the lake at Hays Nature Preserve! (A license is required when fishing in the Flint River.) Bring your fishing pole, rod & reel and bait. Operation Green Team will have a few poles to borrow and corn for bait. To knock the chill off we will also have hot chocolate and coffee. Of course, fishing at Hays Nature Preserve is always free.

Rocket City Chili Cook-Off
@ National Children’s Advocacy Center, Saturday 11am-2pm – Moved to the Clinton Parking Garage at 116 Clinton Avenue due to weather concerns
It’s Rocket City Chili Cook-Off time! This event will take place at the Clinton Parking Garage from 11am-2pm. There will be something for everyone from a moonbounce to music to a jalapeno eating contest! Benefits the Connect Alumni Association and the NCAC.

@ Von Braun Center South Hall, Saturday 7:30-11:30pm
It is simply one of Huntsville’s grandest social events. Each couple brings two or more unwrapped toys with a suggested value of $100.00.
