City Lights and Stars Concert with Doyle Dykes

“Doyle is one of the finest finger-picking guitarists around.” And, once you hear Doyle Dykes live in concert you will see what the late Chet Atkins was talking about. This will be a perfect season finale to close the 20th anniversary season with this phenomenal performer. Although influenced by a wide variety of musical styles and musicians from the country of Chet Atkins to the rock and roll of Duane Eddy and the Beatles, Doyle has developed a distinct, recognizable sound that amazes audiences with skill while capturing hearts with sincerity and soul.

FREE Movies in the Park– rescheduled from last weekend due to weather
@ Big Spring Park/ Huntsville Museum of Art, Friday 8:30pm
Historic Huntsville Foundation is presenting “To Kill a Mockingbird” at sundown (8:30-45pm) in Big Spring Park, free for the whole community to enjoy. Historic Huntsville Foundation is organizing this event to support efforts to help animate downtown with fun, free, family-friendly entertainment. FREE Community Awareness For Youth
@ Jaycee’s Building, Saturday 10am-3pm
CAFY is ready for its third annual back to school event with vendors and demonstrations in support of CAFY’s 4 Pillars of Success: career, health, education and finance. The event is designed for youth in grades 7 through 12, but is open to the entire public. Guests and families can expect to enjoy food, fun and games, as well as prizes and a variety of family-oriented activities. This year CAFY will host a talent show in addition to the food, giveaways, music, and live demonstrations.

Downtown Summerfest
@ Downtown Huntsville, Saturday 2-11pm
Downtown Summerfest is back, and it’s a great time to have a blast in Downtown Huntsville! Downtown Summerfest is closing down streets for this block party and at 2:00 the party starts with vendors providing food and drinks (alcohol and non-alcoholic).
