Sharing stories is something we all do every day to stay connected as a community.

Whether it’s at a coffee shop with a new friend, on lunch break with co-workers, or around the fire with a longtime companion, sharing our experiences and our perspectives strengthens bonds between us.
Stories Under the Stars at Burritt on the Mountain aims to honor and grow that bond by celebrating Huntsville residents and giving them a platform to tell their tales.
This event series will take place at Burritt’s gorgeous gazebo May 18, June 15, and July 27 thanks to event sponsor Investors Resource Raymond James in Madison, and event partners WLRH and Out Loud HSV.
If you’re planning on visiting the mountain to enjoy true tales told by your neighbors, here are 5 things you need to know!
5 Things You Must Know About Stories Under the Stars
#1 BYOC – Bring your own chairs
This event takes place at the Gazebo, and the audience is encouraged to bring a blanket or chairs to set up on the grass for a comfortable listening experience.
#2 The nights are themed
In order to provide a common thread for the folks spinning their yarn on stage, themes have been chosen for each night.
- May 18 – Blast from the Past
- June 15 – It Only Takes a Spark
- July 27 – When Disaster Strikes
#3 Come hungry
There will a food truck on site at each event. Gates will open at 5:30 pm in order to give you plenty of time to feed your appetite before the show kicks off at 6:30 pm. Burritt will also have a beer, wine and champagne bar where you can purchase a beverage to enjoy as the sun sets.
#4 Take the stage
Each event will have one wildcard spot for a randomly drawn teller to take the stage and share their story. Put your name in the hat at the entrance for a chance to step into the spotlight with your 7 minute, true story.
#5 Rain or shine, the show will go on
Burritt has a backup plan for rain for this event series inside the beautiful Baron Bluff building, so don’t let any raindrops ruin your plans!
Enjoy a unique evening of entertainment with a breathtaking view of the city at Stories Under the Stars at Burritt on the Mountain!
