With a pandemic cautious Halloween coming up, it is time to think costumes—or more specifically a Huntsville inspired costume!
This year it could quite possibly be a crisp night, so keep that in mind when preparing costumes and layers.
Below are several fun ideas to get you going on your costume.
5 Huntsville Inspired Costumes for Halloween 2020
#1 Trash Panda
Oh come on, like you haven’t already thought of this one!
You can go literal, like this costume –
Or something more subtle, like this –
Wait… thats not very subtle, but would be awesome paired with a simple black eye mask and a black trash bag “shirt”.
#2 Microwave Dave
A Huntsville icon, Microwave Daves style is distinct! All you need is a pair of denim overalls, a newsboy hat, and mirrored aviator sunglasses.
Then you can add something like THIS to complete the look-
#3 A Huntsville Mural
Whether it’s the purple shirt and green glasses of the “Space is Our Place” mural at Campus No. 805, the blotches and fishy whiskers of a koi fish in the Koi Mural in Downtown Huntsville, or the tie-dyed swirly space look of the Galaxy Mural (also in Downtown Huntsville) there is so much public art to interpret.
BONUS: Grab a selfie of yourself in front of your costume inspiration.
#4 Work From Home Contractor
We picked “contractor” because… Huntsville. But really you can insert any work from home job. Just create a Zoom background on a poster board and cut a space for your own face. Easy and funny!!
You can find all of the instructions for this costume here.
#5 Huntsville Ghost Walk Ghost
Yes, Huntsville Ghost Walks are full of history and local lore. But the real reason we go on the Ghost Walks every year is to see a ghost. Better yet, we try to capture a specter with a picture. It’s a Huntsville tradition.
We found a fun DIY ghost costume that is actually really awesome. This looks creepy ghostly and less white sheet-like. You can find the how-to here.
Happy Halloween Huntsville! Can’t wait to see your costume pics.
