The countdown to 2022 has started and it’s time to wave goodbye to the stresses of last year and look forward to the perfect new year. Okay, maybe that’s not exactly how it works, but regardless let’s have a fun time ringing in the new year!
Stay In Options
Whether you are spending the evening alone, with a partner, or a group of friends-don’t underestimate the power of celebrating at home.
Here are some ideas:
1. Vision Board Party
Vision Boards are a great way to organize your goals for 2022. They are usually created on poster board and include a collage of images and words that represent your aspirations and dreams. This is a great activity to do on your own, with friends, or with family. Use poster board, magazines, books, artwork, scissors, and glue to create a visual of what you want 2022 to look like.
2. Dance/Karaoke House Party
Grab a portable Karaoke kit, or get some wireless mics and pull-up YouTube and sing the night away. You can get as high or low tech as you want, everyone will have a great time singing songs from ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody’ by Whitney Houston to ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ by Queen. Get everyone up and dancing during or after Karaoke time for fun and Instagram-worthy NYE.
3. Pinata Party
Pinatas make any party great, and they aren’t just for kids! For a family-friendly party, get two pinatas, one for the youngins and one for the young at heart. Kids pinatas can be filled with candy, toys, and noisemakers (if you dare.) The adult pinata can be filled with mini-bottles of liquor, hot sauces, and gift cards.
4. Projector Party
Get a screen, projector, and sound to play fun movies throughout the night. Spice up the night with a firepit, snacks, and themed mocktails/cocktails! If you can get a live feed, put up the New York City or Chicago NYE countdowns!

5. Get Fancy
Throw on a glitzy outfit that makes you smile, put out an impressive spread of food and treat yourself to an evening of all your favorites! This is a great option for any number of people, including just you! Put on your favorite music, watch your favorite movies, make that special dessert you love, and manifest good vibes for 2022.

Ashley Polesak has spent the last 10 years living her best life in Huntsville, Alabama. She loves to explore all of the things that Huntsville and the surrounding areas have to offer and is a big proponent for scouting out local experiences. Ashley lives and breathes the outdoors and recreation opportunities in the area, you are very likely to run into her at a park or on a hiking trail. If she has her two rescue dogs with her, Oba and Twyla, please excuse their over-excitement, they are currently being trained and it’s a work in progress! If she had to describe herself in television characters she would choose 1/4 Eleanor Shellstrop, 1/4 Leslie Knope, 1/4 April Ludgate and 1/4 Margaery Tyrell.
