8. Huntsville Chamber Music Guild presents Polish Baltic Philharmonic
January 15
Founded in 1945 on the heels of postwar Polish independence, The Polish Baltic Philharmonic is the largest music institution in northern Poland.

9. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade
January 16
Huntsville’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration Parade sponsored by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. The parade will begin at 11 am along Clinton Ave downtown Huntsville.
10. Beaks and Barks at Huntsville Botanical Garden
Starting January 16
Cool winter days are perfect for getting out of the house and enjoying the fresh air and sunshine in the Garden. Walk the trails in the crisp winter air or play a round of fetch with your dog in the five acre “no leash” zone at the back of the Garden. Admission is $1/dog; regular fee for humans.
11. African American Pioneers and Innovators at Sci-Quest
January 18
In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, bring the entire family to learn about prominent African American scientists, engineers and inventors with science fair experiments and activities. Included with general admission.
12. Royal Fun Night at Sci-Quest

Hear ye, hear ye! Calling all princesses and knights! Join us for this royal evening with special guests Cinderella, Rapunzel, and Sir Lancelot from the Knights of the Round Table! $10 members, $12 non-members.

14. Voices of our Times with David E. Sanger, “American Power and the American Election”

Sanger will discuss the country’s standing in the world as the election year opens. Tickets $30 for members and $50 for non-members.
15. TURKEY: Abduction from the Seraglio presented by the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra

Although Mozart didn’t make much money for this composition, it was so well received it cemented his reputation as a composing giant of his time. Tickets start at $25.
16. Smokey Joe’s Cafe presented by Independent Musical Productions

17. Beauty and the Beast presented by Broadway Theatre League

Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, the smash hit Broadway musical, is coming to Huntsville! This classic musical love story is filled with unforgettable characters, lavish sets and costumes, and dazzling production numbers including “Be Our Guest” and the beloved title song. Tickets start at $17.
