You may have heard that Leonardo Da Vinci has come to town. The U.S. Space and Rocket Center to be specific. And if there is one exhibit that tops my Huntsville Bucket List, this is it! Kids, parents, everyone will enjoy this exhibit, which is making it’s U.S. debut.
10 Things You Must Do @ Da Vinci: The Genius
To help make your Da Vinci experience even more fun, I’ve created a list of things you should accomplish at the exhibit. Here are my 10 things to do at Da Vinci:
#1: Take a selfie with giant Mona Lisa
Bonus points if your smile can out Mona Lisa. After your pic, learn the secrets of the most famous painting.
#2-Learn to write like DaVinci
Examine enlarged copies of Da Vinci’s mysterious writing techniques. See if you can crack his code.
#3- Take an extended tour
Stop by the ticket desk and pick up a free audio device to get extra information throughout the exhibit. Use it anywhere you see a number!
#4-Look into infinity
Hop into DaVinci’s aptly named infinity mirror box and see yourself to (wait for it) infinity.
#5-Imagine yourself in the Ever After wings
Ok technically they’re probably not really the wings from the Drew Barrymore movie, but they sure look similar. And Da Vinci is known as the father of flight so go with me.
#6-Play with Da Vinci’s simple machines
This is one of THE coolest part of the exhibit! You can play with recreations of Da Vinci’s simple machines, made by modern day Artisans in Italy.
#7-Build a bridge
See if your building skills are up to par with DaVinci! See if you can recreate his bridge design. Bonus points if you can one up the genius and build a better one.
#8-See the hidden art treasure
Examine a lost Da Vinci masterpiece, La Bella Principessa, discovered in 2008. See if she resembles another Da Vinci lady to you… Read more about this lost treasure.
#9- Get Jiggy With Leo
Explore Leo’s contributions to music, yes MUSIC! I’m telling you this dude was versatile. It’s like he was a renaissance man or something…
#10- Get Fancy
I’m SUPER excited about the Winter Masquerade on February 8, 2014. I mean I love any excuse to dress up, and this event promised to be one even your fellas will enjoy. Get your tickets here.
