Something I’ve always loved about Huntsville is its appreciation and value of the local arts and artists. From the local Art Museum, Panoply, to the many murals strategically placed around the city… Huntsville has proven its love for art. Whether you’re just starting your art journey, or you’re a seasoned pro with an extensive collection, it’s never a bad idea to explore and find new suppliers for your hobby. Here are four places I recommend checking out if you’re in the market for new art.
Lowe Mill Arts and Entertainment
2211 Seminole Dr SW Huntsville, AL 35805
Website
Our first destination in the local art scene is Lowe Mill Arts and Entertainment. Not only can you peruse the venue and observe the different art pieces on display, you can actually purchase the art work from the galleries, too! In addition, there are many artists with different styles working and practicing their craft throughout the week, and even on the weekends. Pottery classes, candle making classes, art classes, and more – Lowe Mill has it all for the artist at heart. With all the studios to explore and shop, Lowe Mill proves to be an art lovers’ delight.

The Little Green Store and Gallery
820 Monte Sano Blvd SE Huntsville, AL 35801
Website
If you’ve ever been up on Monte Sano Mountain, there’s a good chance you may have passed right by a cute, unassuming store called The Little Green Store and Gallery. This next fun location offers patrons the opportunity to purchase art created by local artists, as well as others from across the nation. The Little Green Store even offers in-home Art Placement Services, where they will come in to your home for a nominal fee and assist you in arranging your art collection. They also have an art gallery with multiple events and shows throughout the year for anyone wanting to get more involved in the art community. With art and other gifts and accessories available and an amazing art gallery, you can spend a long time in this little store very easily.
Harrison Brother’s Hardware Store
124 Southside Square Huntsville, AL 35801
Website
Sitting on the corner of the southside square downtown is Harrison Brothers Hardware Store. Sure, when you hear “hardware” your first thought is probably NOT art… However, this once bustling hardware store has been repurposed into a general store of sorts with just about anything “Huntsville” you can imagine. The store is soaked in history, and almost seems to be frozen in time. You can find all sorts of cool gifts, treats, home accessories, and ART! Almost half of their front store space is occupied by beautiful art, books, and jewelry created by local artists right here in Huntsville. Be sure to take your time and view all the intricate details and options. With the creaky, old floors and old-timey ambiance, shopping here is quite the experience. If you’re a fan of art, history, and Huntsville, get ready to embark on a nostalgic shopping trip at Harrison Brother’s Hardware Store in Downtown Huntsville.
