The Make-A-Wish Trailblaze Challenge is exactly what you’re searching for. Participants will train over the course of 12 weeks to hike 26.3 miles on the Pinhoti Trail in one life-changing day this spring, all while raising money to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses right here in Alabama.

Challenge Yourself in 2022
The Trailblaze Challenge is an endurance hiking event that’s about to kick off its 6th year in Alabama. Since the event’s inception, more than 600 Trailblazers from all over the state have participated.
The event is fully supported, meaning everyone from novice hikers to experienced adventurers can participate. Each year, the Trailblaze Challenge welcomes a wide array of ages, genders, fitness levels, and backgrounds.
You’ll go through gear clinics, participate in group training hikes right here in Huntsville with experienced trail support team members, and take advantage of aid stations along the route during the “big hike.” Food, water, and medical support are all provided, so all you have to worry about is putting one foot in front of the other.

Whether your New Year’s Resolutions include crushing your fitness goals, spending more time outdoors, exploring new places, getting plugged into a community of like-minded people, or just doing something good for those in need, this is the event for you.

If you’re ready to step into the adventure, or you just want to learn more, the first step is attending a free, no-commitment info session. They’ll be held at the Hilton Garden Inn by the Space and Rocket Center all throughout January.
You’ll learn more about the event, hear from people who have completed the challenge, and get the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

What it Supports
The Trailblaze Challenge is a fundraiser for Make-A-Wish Alabama, a local nonprofit that creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses here in our state. All the money raised by this challenge, and by any of their events, stays in Alabama to grant wishes for children in all 67 counties.
