A weekend spent at Lake Guntersville is a great weekend any time, but a special weekend in April will make for one of the most fun planned in a while. The weekend of April 19 is filled with family fun activities that will leave you wondering when you will come back to the Lake Guntersville area.
The 63rd annual Art on the Lake is set for that weekend. This event showcases over 120 fine artists and craftsmen from across the Southeast. There are even 16 set to come from the Huntsville area. Some of the unique creations you will see include wood crafts, fiber art, pottery, sculpture and dimensional forms, paintings and photography. In addition, there are food vendors, outdoor games and rides and a bake shop. Art on the Lake is set for April 20-21 and will be located at Guntersville Recreation Center. Admission is $2, cash only. The event is held rain or shine. For more details, click here.
In conjunction with Art on the Lake, Downtown Guntersville will be hosting their Downtown Spring Fling on Saturday, April 20. All the local shops in the downtown area will be open. But local vendors will also be set up selling their goods as well. There will be live music set up at Errol Allan Park and kids can enjoy a wide array of games, too! The fun will be from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
If you thought the fun couldn’t get any better, the Whole Backstage Theatre will be debuting their newest production, The Savannah Sipping Society. This comedy features four Southern women that come together at happy hour to lean on each other during their middle-aged crisis. Their unlikely friendship will bring laughs, confidence and encouragement to all. They have showings from April 12 through April 21. For complete information and tickets, click the link here.
While those are the three events to be at during that weekend, there are plenty of exciting things to do around Lake Guntersville. Check out the Explore Lake Guntersville website any time for attractions, restaurants, places to stay and much more!
