Madison City Council Approves New Indoor Amusement Concept, Slick City Action Park
Madison city leaders have approved plans for a new indoor amusement destination, bringing a first-of-its-kind entertainment experience to the area. The Madison City Council voted Monday night to allow development of Slick City Action Park, an indoor slide park designed for all-ages fun.
The project will occupy approximately four acres at the corner of Plaza Boulevard and Coefer Boulevard, just off Browns Ferry Road. Once complete, the facility is expected to create around 80 jobs, with many opportunities geared toward local high school students.
Slick City Action Park is described as a youth-oriented destination that also appeals to young adults and corporate groups, offering space for events, team outings, and celebrations. City leaders say the project fills a gap in entertainment options for teens and young adults in the Madison area.

“Something I’ve heard around Madison, too, is there’s not a lot for that middle, young adult and teenage group to do,” said Madison City Council member Alice Lessman. “I think this will be a great addition. It’s also in an area where you can build restaurants and retail, so looking at it as a whole, I think it’s going to be good.”
Headquartered in St. Louis and Nashville, Slick City introduced its concept in 2022 with its first location in Denver, Colorado. The company was co-founded by CEO Bron Launsby and Gary Schmit, Founder and CEO of Slick Slide, the manufacturer behind the proprietary slide technology used in the parks.
Marketed as the world’s first indoor slide park, Slick City features large-scale dry slides designed to replicate the speed and thrill of water slides without the water. In addition to its signature attractions, the park includes air courts for activities like dunking and dodge-style games, along with designated areas for younger children.
The climate-controlled facility is designed to operate year-round, offering a safe and engaging environment for families, teens, and groups to gather, play, and celebrate.
City leaders also note the project’s potential to spur additional development in the surrounding area, including restaurants and retail.
At this time, no official timeline has been announced for construction or opening.
