Looking to find a pumpkin with your punkin? You can pick up one, or more, at several dog-friendly places in North Alabama. And, of course, you’ll want to snap some perfect fall photos.
Hidden Rivers Farm
169 Goose Pond Road
Hartselle, AL 35640
hiddenriversfarm.com
Ticket price: $8-$10 per person plus money for pumpkins, animal feed and pony rides.
This one is your most traditional pumpkin patch: pumpkins, a corn maze, pony rides and even farm animals you can feed. There are also things for the kids to climb, including a tire mountain, and a small corn pit for them to dive into. The old-time truck is perfect for photos and Fido may want to guide you through the corn maze. Hector certainly tried. Keep an eye on their website and Facebook as they have special events such as Moonlight Maze evenings, pumpkin painting and even Adult Nights with Live Music which is nice for those of us who may be a little bit older and have compensated for our child being in college by babying our dog. Just me? We did go earlier in the morning when it wasn’t quite as busy.

They’ve got pumpkins and community scarecrows you can view. Tired of pumpkins and want to do some apple picking while you sip an Apple Cider Slushie? Keep an eye on their Facebook page as they will be having some You Pick Apple times the end of October/November. This one is on our list to check out.
Know a place not mentioned above? We’d love to hear about it!
As always when taking your four-legged friends with you, keep them on a short leash and clean up after them. Don’t take them inside buildings and don’t let them, ummm relieve themselves, on pumpkins or flowers or structures. Ensure your pal is happy. Some dogs are more social than others. Hector loves to make new friends but some dogs are shyer. Keep an eye out for people that may be frighted of dogs. Be a gracious guest and have a good time!
