If you’re like me, you’ve noticed that vinyl is making a comeback. My girlfriend actually got me my first record player this past Christmas, and it was my favorite gift of the year. Not only did she get me an incredible gift, but she started a new hobby that I didn’t know I needed. This new hobby has taken me to some great record stores all across the country but none of them have treated me better than Vertical House at Lowe Mill.
I was able to meet one of the owners when I went in for my first time. His name is Andy Vaughn and he owns Vertical House with his wife Ashley. Although I was unable to meet Ashley that day, I could tell that Andy and his wife had a passion for the store and what they were able to provide to the city of Huntsville. As you can see from the line below, Andy likes talking to his customers and talking about their purchases before they leave the store. I bought 4 Khruangbin albums when I went in and he knew something about all of them. Having a cool record store is great. Having a knowledgeable owner that likes to chat with his customers is even better!
Vertical House the largest record store I’ve seen in Huntsville and their selection can’t be matched. They have everything! They have rows of Alternative, Hip Hop, Country, Rock, Indie, R&B, and so much more. Even if they don’t have what you went in looking for, I know you’ll leave with something you’ll like!
Vertical House has more than vinyls though! Do you need a record player? They have a wall of those!
Are you interested in some new retro threads? They have that too!
Are you into tapes and CDs as well? They have a lot of those too!
Lowe Mill is one of my favorite areas of the city, and Vertical House is the perfect store to have there. Vertical House is going to see a lot of traffic off of location alone, but their store, vibe, selection, and customer service is what’s going to keep people coming back.
