A new partnership between Redstone Arsenal Family and MWR and the Madison Chamber of Commerce is making it easier than ever for the community to experience some of the recreational opportunities available on Redstone Arsenal.
Officially launched on Thursday, July 9, 2026, the Redstone Recreation Passport program allows eligible community members to obtain a free recreational badge, granting access to select Family and MWR destinations on the installation.
Whether you’ve wanted to golf at Links at Redstone, bowl with friends, hike scenic trails, or grab lunch inside the Arsenal, this new program opens the door to discovering some of Redstone’s recreational amenities.

How to Get Your Recreational Badge
The first step is obtaining your free recreational badge.
Visit the Redstone Arsenal Visitor Control Center, located outside Gate 9 at 4122 Rideout Road, Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Bring a valid STAR ID or other approved driver’s license, have a clean driving record, and be prepared to complete a standard background check. Once approved, your recreational badge is valid for six months.
Pick Up Your Passport
After receiving your badge, you can pick up your physical Redstone Recreation Passport from the Madison Chamber of Commerce or participating Family and MWR locations. A downloadable version is also available online through the Madison Chamber of Commerce.
Explore and Collect Stamps
The passport encourages visitors to explore participating Family and MWR destinations across Redstone Arsenal.
Participating locations include:
- Links at Redstone Golf Course
- Redstone Lanes Bowling Center
- Weeden Mountain Grill
- Java Café
- Strike Zone
- Vincent Park Disc Golf
- Vincent Park Dog Park
- Hiking and Biking Trails
As you visit participating locations, collect stamps in your passport. Some outdoor recreation stops use a simple check-off instead of a physical stamp.

Earn Prizes
Once you’ve collected at least three stamps, return your completed passport to the Madison Chamber of Commerce to receive prizes from both the Chamber and Redstone Arsenal Family and MWR.
A New Way to Experience Redstone Arsenal
For many Huntsville and Madison residents, Redstone Arsenal has always been a familiar landmark but not necessarily a place they’ve had the opportunity to explore. The Redstone Recreation Passport creates a simple way for the community to enjoy recreational amenities while learning more about the installation’s Family and MWR offerings.
Whether you’re planning a round of golf, a family bowling night, a walk through the trails, or simply looking for a new lunch spot, the passport offers a fun reason to discover what Redstone Arsenal has to offer.
