The calendar behind Huntsville’s growing music scene.
Huntsville’s music scene has come a long way over the past several years, and a newly released 2026 Music Audit confirms what many locals have already noticed: live music has become a major part of the city’s identity.
Commissioned by the City of Huntsville and conducted by Sound Diplomacy, the updated audit highlights the incredible growth of Huntsville’s music ecosystem since the original 2018 study. The report found that more than 2,200 music events are now held throughout Huntsville each year, contributing to the city’s economy, attracting visitors and creating more opportunities for local musicians, venues and businesses.
The audit credits much of this momentum to investments like The Orion Amphitheater, expanded programming at the Von Braun Center, local festivals, independent venues and the continued work of Huntsville’s Music Office. Together, these efforts have helped establish Huntsville as a destination for both touring artists and local talent.
More than music
While the audit celebrates Huntsville’s 2,200 music events, it’s also a reminder of just how active our community has become as a whole.
At We Are Huntsville, we’re proud to maintain the largest event calendar in North Alabama. Last year alone, our calendar featured more than 4,100 events, ranging from live music and festivals to nonprofit fundraisers, theater performances, sporting events, markets, classes, networking opportunities, family activities and more.
Our calendar serves as the official event calendar for the Huntsville Music Office and is also displayed on the websites of Arts Huntsville, Downtown Huntsville, MidCity District and other community partners. By maintaining one centralized calendar, we’re able to help thousands of residents and visitors discover what’s happening while providing organizations with greater visibility across multiple trusted local websites.
A community-powered calendar
One of the things we’re most proud of is that our event calendar is built by the community, for the community.
Submitting an event is completely free for organizations, businesses and individuals hosting events that meet our standard submission guidelines. Event organizers simply create a free account, submit their event details and our team reviews each submission before it’s published.
This review process helps keep the calendar accurate, organized and reliable while making it easy for event organizers to reach thousands of people looking for things to do throughout Huntsville and North Alabama.
Whether you’re hosting a concert, fundraiser, festival, workshop, community gathering or business event, submitting it to the calendar helps more people discover it, not only on We Are Huntsville, but across our network of partner websites.
Looking for an event calendar on your website?
An event calendar is more than a list of dates. It’s a valuable community resource that helps connect organizations with the people they hope to reach. By sharing one centralized calendar across multiple websites, events receive greater visibility while residents benefit from having a single, trusted place to discover what’s happening.
If your organization would like to feature a comprehensive local event calendar without the work of maintaining one yourself, we’d love to talk. We provide syndicated event calendar solutions that automatically keep your website updated with local events while helping connect more people to everything happening across North Alabama. A thriving community takes all of us
While we’re proud to provide the calendar that helps connect people with local events, it’s only one small piece of what makes Huntsville’s event community thrive. Behind every concert, festival, market, performance and community gathering are musicians, venue owners, artists, nonprofits, event organizers, volunteers and local businesses working together to create experiences that make Huntsville special.
You can help keep that momentum going by supporting local musicians, attending shows, purchasing tickets, visiting local venues, shopping with event vendors, sharing events with friends and discovering someone new. Every ticket purchased, every meal before a show, every vendor supported and every event shared helps strengthen Huntsville’s growing arts, entertainment and small business community.
As Huntsville continues to grow, we’re honored to play a small role in helping people discover the more than 4,100 events that bring our community together each year. Together, we can continue supporting the people, places and events that make Huntsville such a vibrant place to live, work and visit.
