Love Your Library Campaign

The Huntsville Library Foundation (HLF) is excited to kick off its 2^nd annual Love Your Library campaign for the month of February. With a goal of $25,000, the HLF Board members will raise funds to benefit Summer Reading at the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library. This popular programming is offered every year at all 11 Library locations and keeps kids engaged throughout the summer. Summer Reading also aims to help families prevent that “summer slide,” when students can lose as much as 20% of their school-year gains in reading.

Reaching over 40,000 children in past years, the Summer Reading program offers a continuous – and fun! – learning environment for all children, for FREE, through storytimes, activities, and programs. Because Summer Reading relies on approximately 70 percent of support from donors and sponsorships, the HLF is especially thankful for donations made through the Love Your Library campaign.

Profits from the campaign are particularly helpful this year as the Library has dealt with unexpected costs related to COVID-19. Donations will go to support new and improved equipment to host outdoor events and programs, giveaway materials and prizes, speakers and special guests, and technical equipment and PPE to allow for safe and socially distanced checkout of materials from our locations and the Bookmobile.
