It’s almost that time of the year…when hot dogs and hamburgers are grilling, fireworks are booming, and America is celebrating our freedom! Check out different ways to have fun with the North Alabama community and show your patriotism.

Huntsville, Alabama

Independence Day Celebration 2024
Ditto’s Landing near Landing’s Kingston Pavilion, Saturday, June 29; 5PM-9PM, FREE
There will be live music, food trucks, family games and fireworks.

MidCity District Independence Day Celebration
Thursday, July 4, 12PM-11PM, FREE entry

Bring lawn chairs or a blanket and enjoy food and drink specials throughout the MidCity District along with live music by the Madison City Orchestra. The Camp will hold their annual Mullet and Mustache Contest

Freedom 5K and 1 mile
Big Spring Park, Thursday, July 4, 7AM and 8:15 AM, Registration Fee

Both courses are USATF Certified, the routes go through Downtown Huntsville and Old Town.

Madison, Alabama

2024 City of Madison Star Spangled Celebration
Dublin Park, Wednesday, July 3, 5PM-9PM, FREE

There will be live music, food trucks, inflatables, and fireworks. All parking is at Bob Jones High School with free shuttle service to Dublin Park.

Rocket City Trash Pandas vs. Birmingham Barons
Toyota Field, July 4-July 6, 6:35PM, Ticket Prices Vary

Enjoy America’s pastime as the Rocket City Trash Pandas play the Birmingham Barons. Fireworks will take place after each game in this series.

Decatur, Alabama

Spirit of America Festival
Point Mallard Park, Point Mallard-Spirit of America Field, Decatur, AL, Thursday, July 4 at 3:30PM, FREE

This is the 53^rd Annual Festival, bring a chair or blanket and enjoy the great music, inflatable kids zone, dunk tanks, craft vendors, fireworks and more.

There is no seating at stadium space is available at Athens Park and Recreation Center, Central Church of Christ and other adjacent areas.

Cullman, Alabama

Smith Lake Park Fourth of July Firework Festival
Smith Lake Park, Thursday, July 4, 9AM-9PM, FREE entry

Head to the lake for food, arts and crafts vendors, as well as fireworks.

Ashley Polesak has spent the last 10 years living her best life in Huntsville, Alabama. She loves to explore all of the things that Huntsville and the surrounding areas have to offer and is a big proponent for scouting out local experiences.
