Artemis II Splashdown Watch Party
The City of Huntsville and Downtown Huntsville, Inc. (DHI) invite the community to gather for a special Artemis II Splashdown Watch Party on April 10, celebrating the next milestone in NASA’s return to human deep space exploration.
The event will feature a live stream of the Artemis II splashdown beginning at 6:00 p.m., offering attendees the opportunity to witness history alongside fellow space enthusiasts in the Rocket City.
Huntsville, long recognized as a hub for space innovation and exploration, is home to NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, which plays a critical role in NASA’s Artemis program through its management of the Space Launch System and Human Landing System programs. The Artemis II mission marks the first crewed flight of NASA’s Orion spacecraft around the Moon, paving the way for future lunar missions and continued exploration beyond.
“This mission carries the fingerprints of our community, and we’re proud to gather in Big Spring Park to share this moment together as we honor the teamwork, innovation and determination that made the Artemis journey around the moon possible. Let us remind the world that Huntsville remains at the heart of America’s space story.” said Mayor Tommy Battle.
“Huntsville has been intertwined with space exploration for more than seventy years, and we’re thrilled to bring the community together in downtown Huntsville to celebrate this historic achievement” said Ron Poteat, DHI President & CEO.
