Huntsville Music Month Returns with a Full September Lineup
September is Huntsville Music Month, and this year’s celebration is bringing a packed lineup of concerts, festivals, showcases and special events to venues across the city.
Hosted by the Huntsville Music Office, Huntsville Music Month highlights the artists, venues and organizations that make up Huntsville’s growing music scene. The 2026 celebration follows the release of the city’s latest Music Audit and includes everything from free outdoor concerts and open mic nights to industry events and opportunities to see Huntsville musicians take their talents beyond Alabama.
Here are some of the highlights happening throughout September.
LAUNCHPAD | September 4–5
LAUNCHPAD is getting a new format for 2026, expanding into two nights of free live music at eight venues across Huntsville.
Local and regional artists representing a variety of genres will take the stage throughout the city, giving music fans a chance to discover new artists and check out some of Huntsville’s favorite live music venues.
Best of all: there’s no cover.

Concerts on the Dock | September 4, 11, 18 & 25
One of Huntsville’s longtime live music traditions returns to Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment every Friday throughout September.
Concerts on the Dock transforms Lowe Mill’s historic loading dock into an outdoor stage featuring live music and plenty of room to bring a chair, grab some food and spend the evening outside.
Admission is free, with on-site parking available for $10.
Jazz in the Park | September 6, 13, 20 & 27
Sunday nights in September mean Jazz in the Park!
The free concert series returns to Big Spring Park West from 5–9 p.m. each Sunday with nationally recognized smooth-jazz artists performing in downtown Huntsville.
The series is presented by Downtown Huntsville, Inc., the City of Huntsville Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Huntsville Music Office.

Women in Music Week | September 12–20
Women in Music Week returns for its eighth year with performances happening at venues throughout Huntsville.
More than 50 women working in the music industry are expected to participate, highlighting the singers, musicians and other creatives helping shape Huntsville’s music community.

Music Industry Career Fair & Community Expo | September 14
Interested in working or volunteering in Huntsville’s music scene?
The Huntsville Music Office and Arts Huntsville will host a free Music Industry Career Fair & Community Expo on Monday, September 14, from 5–7:30 p.m. at the Von Braun Center East Hall.
Attendees can connect with local organizations offering jobs and volunteer opportunities throughout Huntsville’s music ecosystem.
805 After Five | September 17
805 After Five returns to the S.R. Butler Green at Campus No. 805 with RIPE and Huntsville artist Pat Jamar.
The free outdoor concert runs from 5–9 p.m. and will also feature local food trucks and craft beverages.

Huntsville Heads to AMERICANAFEST | September 17–18
Huntsville Music Month isn’t limited to Huntsville.
The Huntsville Music Office is returning to Nashville for AMERICANAFEST with two days of programming designed to spotlight North Alabama artists and Huntsville’s growing music industry.
Events include the third annual Rocket City Ramble and One Big Love, founded by Huntsville native Paul McDonald. Both events are free and open to the public, subject to venue capacity.
Huntsville musicians are also heading international this year. Common Man, Jayne Huntsman and Hugh Lindsey are representing Huntsville at the Live at Heart Conference & Festival in Örebro, Sweden, as part of a new music exchange program.
CulturA Festival | September 20
CulturA Festival celebrates its fifth anniversary at The Orion Amphitheater on Sunday, September 20.
The free, all-ages festival celebrates Hispanic culture through live music, food, art and cultural performances. Guests can also expect family activities, a vendor marketplace, food trucks, panel discussions and interactive experiences throughout the day.

And that’s only part of the September lineup.
Music Month also includes Golden Hour at the Garden on September 4, 11, 18 and 25; a free Gospel Skate Night at Stoner Park on September 6; performances by Huntsville City Schools students before City Council meetings on September 10 and 24; and the year-round School Instrument Drive.
Local musicians can also submit their music to the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library’s BLAST Music streaming platform throughout September. Album and EP submissions from Tennessee Valley musicians will be accepted September 1–30.
