Huntsville is Glowing

By Katelyn Henderson

Did you know that Huntsville has not one but two light tunnels! As the city grows, the placemaking efforts can be seen with art installations, lights, and experiences around the city! Want to visit one of these spots – check them out below!

Big Spring Park Light Tunnel

This tunnel located in the heart of Downtown, Huntsville is a local favorite. It is across from the Von Braun Center, running under Monroe Street. These lights paired with the water and koi make for an impressive backdrop!

Hays Farm Tunnel

Travel down to South Huntsville for a new light installation near Grissom High School on Haysland Rd. This tunnel known at “Tiger Tunnel” is near the beginning of Elgie’s Walk Greenway and the lights are controlled by the Grissom Art Students.

Looking for other light experiences?

Be sure to check out the Clinton Row Colorwalk, Big Spring Parking Garage, and even on the side of 200 West Side Square.
