Are you ready to learn a new skill or find a new hobby? It’s hard to believe we are headed into 2023 and now is a great time to get started with a new craft. Burritt on the Mountain hosts a Folk School Program that offers a variety of crafts and classes throughout the year.

Fiber Arts: Fall Knit Bits at Burrritt
Come join our growing kitting community at Burritt! If you have basic knitting experience, but want to expand your knowledge, this is for you. Each meeting covers a different topic in a short, snack-sized session rather than a longer project-based class. You can register for one, two, three, or all four dates! Ceramics: Open Studio Sessions

Glass: Stained Glass Wishing Star
This beginners class will cover glass cutting, ’Tiffany style’ copper foil application, tinning and building dimensionally. Students will take home a beautiful 3 dimensional star! More Information and Registration
Blacksmithing: Candle Holder
This beginner/intermediate class will focus on hammer control using half face blows, drawing, twisting, bending, and assembly by riveting. Students will create a candle holder based on 17th and 18th century rush lights. More Information and Registration
Folk Traditions: Pumpkin Carving
Take your pumpkin carving to the next level! In this class, students will learn the techniques of creating a shaved pumpkin design. Your instructor will guide you through the steps of carving a spooky skyline of various Huntsville landmarks on a locally grown pumpkin. More Information and Registration
