April Challenge to Eat Local in Huntsville
Small businesses and locally owned restaurants are what make Huntsville-Huntsville. Challenge your foodie side with this monthly goal list that will increase your knowledge and palate of Huntsville’s local food scene.
The month of APRIL challenge has a Huntsville classic, some new to the scene establishments and a variety of beverages, entrees and snacks with a Gluten Free and Vegan option. All foods can fit into a healthy lifestyle and in true Rocket City Dietitian fashion, this list contains a mix of all types of foods from savory to sweet.

This quick service vegan restaurant is located inside The Foundation near the Alabama A&M. Serving 100% plant based. The owner, Nikia Lightfoot recently won The Catalyst Center’s 2023 Entrepreneur of the Year.
Menu includes items like: burgers, waffle fries, chili, chick’n nuggets, fried chick’n sandwiches, salads and kids meals (burgers, and nuggets). Soy free chick’n available upon request. This month try their signature Chick’n Sandwich. Pair with waffle fries, Vujee secret sauce and a Red Cou-Laud.

These signature hotdogs are named after areas of Huntsville. All beef hotdogs and sausage dogs.
