This fall, put on your favorite prom attire, gather all your girlfriends, and join The PJR Collective for an exciting night of dancing, sisterhood, and fun that makes a difference in our community! Mom Prom™ is a fundraising event benefiting those suffering and healing from domestic violence.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to bring attention to the realities of domestic violence, honor survivors, remember those who have lost their lives, and remind our communities that help and hope are available.
Domestic violence affects millions of people each year. According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, more than 10 million adults in the United States experience domestic violence annually. Behind those numbers are individuals and families whose lives can be profoundly impacted by abuse, often in ways that continue long after they leave an abusive situation.
That is where The PJR Collective for the Healing of Domestic Violence comes in.
The PJR Collective is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping victims and survivors of domestic violence begin again and heal. Leaving an abusive situation is only the first step. Survivors face immediate challenges such as finding safe housing, purchasing groceries and necessities, or managing unexpected expenses while rebuilding their lives. The PJR Collective provides support to help ease some of those burdens and give survivors the opportunity to move forward, also providing resources and aid for therapy and healing.
This November, The PJR Collective is excited to bring back Mom Prom™, a night dedicated to fun, friendship, and supporting an important cause. Despite the name, you do not have to be a mom to attend! Mom Prom is a chance for all women ages 21 and over to come together for a memorable night out.
Guests can look forward to a silent auction, door prizes, and fun activities. Entertainment includes DJ Dilly Dilly and special performances by The Rocket City Starlets and In The Stars Aerial.
Mom Prom™ will take place on Saturday, November 14, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at The Royal at Stovehouse. (3414 Governors Dr SW, Huntsville, Al)
Mom Prom™ is The PJR Collective’s largest fundraising event of the year! Every ticket purchased and corporate sponsorship helps support the organization’s work with victims and survivors of domestic violence.
