If you’ve been looking for a reason to treat yourself, here’s one: Cocoa Bama is officially open in Huntsville’s Five Points neighborhood, bringing handcrafted chocolates, truffles, fudge, and other sweet creations to one of the city’s most walkable districts.

Located at 716 Pratt Avenue NE, Cocoa Bama is a locally owned chocolate shop founded by Hannah Platko, who moved to Huntsville in 2023 with a dream of continuing a family tradition. The shop is inspired by Cocoa Vienna, the beloved Virginia chocolate shop started by Hannah’s father in 2013, and now brings those same small-batch chocolate-making techniques to North Alabama.

Make It a Five Points Afternoon
One of the best parts about Cocoa Bama is its location.
After grabbing a box of chocolates, spend some time exploring the neighborhood. Walk over to Star Market for a famous Milo’s Slushy, browse the shelves at Snail on the Wall, or stop by Good Company’s new location. Five Points has become one of Huntsville’s favorite areas for local shopping, and Cocoa Bama is another great reason to spend an afternoon there.
