If you are looking for an adventure close to home that you can fit into a single day, Sewanee, Tennessee has just the right amount of fun, food and adventure for a full day of exploring. Located 50 miles from Huntsville, Sewanee is Tennessee’s best kept secret with family-friendly concerts, walking trails, craft & antique shops, and cafés.

After exploring Sewanee, I stopped at Mountain Goat Market for lunch. This market is super cute and eclectic, offering sandwiches & café fare in a rustic, homey setting. Indoor and outdoor seating, quick bites and healthy options, including gluten free bread. I ordered the Rueben; corned beef, swiss, sauerkraut, sabi sauce served with marbled rye gluten free bread. Not only was this sandwich packed with flavor, but it was also delicious!

Mountain Goat Market offers, salads, pizza and desserts. This is the perfect spot to relax after shopping at nearby shops. Sit outside on the covered patio, while enjoying your lunch and planning out the rest of your day.

Don’t forget to grab a dessert!

They have so many to choose from, blueberry crumble, banana pudding & cookies.
