Spend a Day Supporting Black-Owned Businesses

By Keondria Young

February is the month of love & it is also Black History Month. What better way to show love than to support a local black-owned business. According to the 2020 U.S Census only 18.3% of all businesses are minority-owned. Supporting black-owned businesses helps increase inclusion and bring awareness to minority cultures. As black businesses thrive, so do their communities. This is important as it helps narrow the racial wealth gap.

There are some incredible black-owned businesses located right here in Huntsville, Al. I’ve highlighted a few businesses to support during Black History month & beyond. Here’s a list to help get you started.
