5 Places to Find Summer Cocktails in Huntsville

By Calli Nelson

It’s summertime in Alabama and we all have one goal in common: beat the heat. What better way to cool off than with a refreshing cocktail?

Huntsville is full of restaurants and bars with all the summer-time concoctions you could desire. If you’re having trouble deciding where to go or don’t even know where to begin, this blog is for you!

Here is a list of 5 places that have just the thing to quench your thirst.

5 Places to Find Summer Cocktails

Baker and Able

First on the list and fairly new to Huntsville: Baker and Able. This insta-worthy rooftop bar has a menu full of Huntsville-inspired drinks that are sure to make summer a little more bearable. Pictured are the Nebula, a shimmering gin-based drink with the perfect balance of floral notes and citrus tang, and the Apollo, a smoky-yet-light mezcal mixture.

The Brewers Co-operative

This one is for beer lovers! You can find The Brewers Co-operative right in the mix of all that Stovehouse has to offer. They have plenty of beer options, including some of their own. If you’re looking to stick to cocktails, don’t worry they have plenty of those as well, including frozen options. Sticking with the brewer theme, we tried a few of their house brews, the bitter fling, a chocolate-covered raspberry sour, and the co-op velvet, a smooth vanilla velvet stout. These were both definitely worth going back for more!

Melt

Melt is great for those days you want to grab a drink and play games! Melt has a selection of board games inside, as well as outdoor games like corn hole. They have a variety of cocktail options, including adult capri-suns. We sipped on the frose and peach moonshine lemonade pictured below. These are both featured on their summer cocktail list. Both were sweet, fruity, and very refreshing.

Domaine South

Nestled in the corner of Big Spring Park, you will find Domaine South. The bartenders here know what they’re doing! They even have a list of delicious mocktails. Pictured below are the Cecilia, a vodka cocktail that is just the right amount of sweet and tart with hints of floral, along with an OG daiquiri, some would say is an oldie but a goodie. The Bohemian atmosphere of Domaine South is definitely a bonus, and with table-side views of the park, who could complain?

The Standard

Located on Holmes Avenue, The Standard is pretty much a one-stop shop. This market/restaurant combo serves delicious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Their summer cocktails include a coconut lime margarita, champagne mojito, and lavender bee’s knees, along with other fun concoctions. Pictured is their peach bellini and spiked coffee. Brunch classics that are perfect for starting off a summer day.

Here’s to a summer filled with refreshing beverages.

Cheers!
